2022 PLL Championship

The 2022 Premier Lacrosse League started in June and on Saturday, July 16 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts (ESPN, ESPN+; 3:30 pm ET/2:30 pm CT/1:30 pm PT) we’ll have the 2022 PLL All-Star Game between Team Baptiste and Team Farrell.

Heading into the 2022 PLL All-Star Game, there were three teams with 4-1 records and three with 1-4 marks after those first five games with Atlas, Chrome, and Whipsnakes all at 4-1 and Cannons, Chaos, and Redwoods all sitting at 1-3 and likely no Postseasons.

Premier Lacrosse League Heads Into Second Half Season

The Second Half of the 2022 PLL Regular Season schedule will begin on Saturday, July 23-Sunday, July 26 with Week 7—the PLL All-Star Game deemed Week 6—and the 2022 PLL heading to Fairfield, Connecticut. Dallas (Aug. 5-6) and Denver (Aug 12-13) are next.

Oddsmakers at the online sportsbook BetOnline have made Team (Trevor, Atlas LC) Baptiste as slight -120 Favorites overteam (Connor, Chrome LC) Farrell for the match.

After the PLL All-Star Game, there will be a special PLL All-Star-Skills Challenge (ESPN+, 6:30 pm EDT/3:30 pm PDT) with a Fastest Player competition, an Accuracy Challenge, a Freestyle Challenge, a Goalie Challenge, and a special Fastest Shot competition.

The PLL Fastest Shot competition will be held at Halftime of Saturday’s PLL All-Star Game at Gillette Stadium with Justin Anderson (Chrome LC), CJ Costabile, (Chaos LC), Myles Jones (Redwoods LC), Mike Manley, (Chrome LC) and Jarrod Neumann, (Chaos LC).

The PLL had its inaugural season in 2019 and played a 14-week Tour in 12 major cities in the US with 6 teams and then expanded to 7 clubs in 2020 with the addition of the Waterdogs Lacrosse team, allowing PLL teams to have Bye (off) weeks.

Then on December 20, 2022, the league expanded even more with the merger of the PLL and Major League Lacrosse (MLL), bringing the total number of teams in the professional Lacrosse league to 7. In 2021, the (Boston) Cannons were rebranded and also added.

Last 2021 PLL season, Chaos LC beat the two-time defending champions, Whipsnakes, 14-9 at Audi Field in Washington, DC as Goalie Blaze Riordan led his team to its first PLL championship. Riordan was named the game’s MVP and also won the 2021 PLL MVP.
