Win, Place and Show

Win — If your horse finishes 1st, you win $$$.

Place — If your horse finishes 1st or 2nd, you win $$.

Show — If your horse finishes 1st, 2nd or 3rd, you win $.

Exotic Bets or Combination Wagers

Exacta — Pick two horses in one race. If they finish 1st and 2nd, in exact order, you win.

Quinella — A quinella bet is a wager on two horses in the same race to finish in first or second place. It doesn’t matter which of your two horses gets first and which gets second as long as they finish in the top

Trifecta —A bet in which the first three finishers must be selected in exact order.

Superfecta — Pick four horses. If they finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th, in exact order, you win.

Daily Double — A daily double bet is one where you pick the winner of two consecutive races. Usually, this is offered on the first two races of the day or the last two. Some parks will offer rolling daily doubles available throughout the day.

Pick 3 — Similar to the Daily Double, but for three consecutive races.

Pick 4 — Similar to the Daily Double, but for four consecutive races.
