Tyrese Haliburton, Damian lillard headline NBA Three-Point Contest
Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers and Damian Lillard of the Milwaukee Bucks will be among the league’s best shooters competing in the 2024 Three-Point Contest at NBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis.
Haliburton, who’s also an All-Star starter, will try to win in front of his home crowd in his first stint at the three-point competition. One of the league’s premier shooters, Haliburton is shooting nearly 40% (39.8%) from three-point range this season.
Lillard, the reigning champion, aims to defend his title this year despite a down-shooting season. Coming over to the Bucks in the offseason, Lillard is only shooting 34.7% from three on 8 attempts per game.
Joining Haliburton and Lillard are the following: Cleveland Cavaliers’ Donovan Mitchell, New York Knicks’ Jalen Brunson, Lillard’s Bucks teammate Malik Beasley and Utah Jazz’s Lauri Markkanen.
There are notably only six competitors in the field this year compared to the usual eight in the previous years because of a separate three-point showdown between Stephen Curry and Sabrina Ionescu in the first-ever NBA vs. WNBA Three-Point Challenge.
