Can Four Card Poker Change Your Fortunes?
Four Card Poker is an exciting variation to Poker that features heads up play against the dealer and an optional bonus bet. Four Card Poker offers three ways to play. The Player may wager the Dealer, against a Paytable or against both the Dealer and the Paytable.
With Four Card Poker players use their best four cards out of the 5 dealt and the dealer uses the best four out of six cards to make their best Four-Card poker hand.
What is the difference between Three Card Poker and Four Card Poker?
Four Card Poker is similar to Three Card Poker with one major difference: In Three Card Poker, the play wager must equal the ante. In Four Card Poker, players may bet up to three times their ante when staying in the game
HOW TO PLAY 4 CARD POKER
- Before the cards are dealt, each Player places an ANTE wager, betting that they will have a hand of at least a pair or better
- Each player will then be dealt a hand of five (5) cards face down to make their best four-card hand. The dealer receives six cards face down to make his/her four-card poker hand. Yes, the dealer gets one extra card to form their best hand.
- After viewing their five cards, they have the option to either:
– Fold: If you fold (forfeit), the hand is over and the dealer will collect your ANTE wager.
– Play (Raise): If the player looks at their hand and believe it can beat the dealer’s hand, a second Wager called the PLAY Wager is made. The Play Wager must be 1 to 3 times the Ante (bet 1X to 3X your ante) to stay in the game. The Ante and Play each are paid 1 to 1 when they win, The player wins ties. - After all players have taken action on their hands, the dealer then reveals and announces his/her Four-Card Poker hand.
- The dealer then compares his hand to each player hand. If your hand beats or ties the dealer’s your ante and play bets wins 1 to 1(even money). If your hand loses to the dealer’s, your ante and play bets lose.
Here’s how a spot might look like at a Four Card Poker table.
#1 Player vs. Dealer – Ante Wager
The Ante is a bet that the player’s 4-card hand will beat the dealer’s 4-card hand. If once the player looks at their hand they believe it can beat the dealer’s hand, a second bet called the Play Bet is made. The Play Bet must be 1 to 3 times the Ante. The Ante and Play each are paid 1 to 1 when they win. The player wins ties.
The object when playing against the Dealer is for the Player to form a four card poker hand higher than, or equal in rank to the Dealer’s hand. Players use their best four of five cards dealt, whereas the Dealer uses the best four of six cards dealt. To play against the Dealer, the Player must make an ANTE wager.
